Plow Day Fever

Garden Tractor Plowing!

1982 Cub Cadet 782.  After International Harverster sold the Cub Cadet line to the Cub Cadet Corporation of Cleveland Ohio, CCC continued to use parts left from the old International Harvester days.  This continued from serial number 700,000 to 719,999.   These tractors are what some enthusiast consider a 'transition' tractor because other than some missing IH specific badging, these transition Cubs were inendical to the IH built versions in every way.

This particular tractor is one of few that I have actually bought in one piece.  The engine had a blown rod when it arrived.  The original Kohler KT17 engine had been replaced long ago by a Kohler KT17-II engine.  The current engine was built in 1991 so I assume the original engine blew about that time.  Other than some spray can touch up on the fender pan and rear axles, this machine is an original paint tractor.
